Gorilla Bread

Hello Paula!

I love you.

I love Paula Deen, like totally … she is definitely one of my favorite chefs. Her red velvet cake recipe remains my favorite and my go to recipe when I make big batch orders.

So when I discovered Gorilla bread… I mean who can resist.

Not this bread loving… cream cheese .. sugar craving lady!

The caramelized walnuts, the creamy center, the cinnamon…. to die for.

Perfect for Sunday brunch.

The line up. What? Thats it? Yup ….thats it!

Throw in the walnuts, I suggest using way more than I did if you are into that sort of thing that is.

Caramelizing the sugar/butter.

Flatten the dough … sorry you have to see this but I must demonstrate … :) My fingers … oooo soooo soooo pink.

Freakish pink hand lady … put the cheese in and wrap the dough over, rolling into a ball.

Roll the dough in the sugar mixture.

Dough … ready to assemble the bread.

Layer dough balls on walnuts, sprinkle some of the sugar mixture on top.

Caramel sauce. Next time around to make it even easier I will substitute for already made caramel sauce/topping  I think it would work better in the recipe.

Topped with walnuts. Wish I added more because the walnuts were really my favorite part, I scooped up all the leftover walnuts and added some to cupcakes and on my oatmeal….. they were soooooo delicious!!!

Add top layer of dough balls making sure they are not laying directly on top of the previous ones, alternate them.

Sprinkle some of the leftover sugar on top, I threw out most of the leftover sugar mixture it was just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa… aaaaaaa….aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much sugar for me.

Toss in the oven for about 30 minutes.

Voila….Delicious,  the walnuts get so nice and caramelized and the bread so squishy and soft in the middle. I didn’t get pictures when we cut it .. so sorry but it was gone too fast to even try. Best when warm!

Gorilla bread~ recipe here. (did everything exactly except I used the 8 pc biscuits instead of 10pc.. oh and I added a little nutmeg).. do make this… you will love it!

Oh by the way ..look at… poor maxi … soooo fluffy .. he needs a shave sooo bad. I love when hes all cuddly and fluffy but he hates it,  see how miserable the poor guy looks.

Definitely time for a shave! Mean mugging Maximus!

Leave it to Paula to come up with an over the top twist on Monday bread. Your gorilla bread looks fabulous! This is the first time I have seen this recipe and I am going to bookmark it. I love monkey bread, but I am going to have to try this with the cream cheese. Your dog is so cute!
